The Need

While a marrow transplant can be a life-saving treatment for many patients, it takes a financial toll on a family. Often there is the temporary loss of at least one income. And even with insurance, not all costs are covered.

Some patients need help with mounting prescription co-pays. Some need help because their insurance does not cover the cost to search for a marrow donor. Still others struggle with the cost of living vital to their recovery — 60 percent of patients must relocate to be near a transplant center while their fragile immune system heals.

How We Help

Be The Match Foundation’s Patient Assistance Program provides grants helping to cover food, transportation, lodging, prescription co-pays and other uninsured expenses for up to six months after transplant.
