Our overall goal is to have 500? new registrants, and raise $30,000. How did we set these goals? This season, 500? builders put on the tournament you're enjoying on Discovery and Science Channels. And the cost of a bot? At least $30,000. So if we can get one fan to register for each team member, and donate the cost of one of the bots we demolish, it's a great win for BattleBots, Be The Match, and most importantly, the cancer patients who need stem cell donors and financial assistance.

Each week, right after the Wednesday broadcast on Science Channel, we'll announce which team is ahead in our drive. If you follow your favorite team's social media, you'll be hearing from them about Be The Match.

Why are we doing this?
One of you, our fans, suggested we use the incredible excitement generated by BattleBots on Discovery and Science Channels to help those less fortunate. A long time participant in the sport, a member of Team Mobieus in the 2016 season, had two bone marrow transplants, and suggested Be The Match as a worthy, life saving organization.

Be The Match delivers cures for blood cancers.

For patients with life-threatening blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma or other life-threating diseases, a cure exists a blood stem cell transplant. We lead the fight to advance the science of transplant, support patients at every step of their journey, and empower people to give the greatest gift of all the gift of life.

Your gift to Be The Match supports three key areas:

1. Help patients overcome financial barriers to transplant.

Because insurance doesn’t cover all the costs of a transplant, many families are not able to afford treatment. We provide vital funds to help families focus on what matters most getting well.

2. Grow the registry to create more matches.

Be The Match operates the largest and most diverse marrow registry in the world. Still, many patients can’t find a match. We focus our recruiting efforts on healthy, diverse potential blood stem cell donors between the ages of 18-44 who provide the greatest chance for a successful transplant. Your contributions add more people to the registry who are committed to saving a life.

3. Fund life-saving research.

With nearly 30 years of experience, we are the trusted leaders in advancing the science of transplant. Our dedicated research program, CIBMTR® (Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research®), has over 250 research studies in progress to improve transplant outcomes, reduce complications, treat more diseases and provide a cure to more patients.
