Hello family and friends,
On April 1, 2018 I will be cycling across America! I have joined Team Be The Match to raise money as I ride across country because I’m passionate about saving lives. I have had 3 people in my life who have needed bone marrow transplants, one of which needed two! (See the photo with my friend Becky who is a 20 year bone marrow transplant survivor and with my brother-in-law Matt who is one year out from his transplant with his beautiful family!). I want to use this ride as an opportunity to raise awareness and funds for the amazing work Be The Match does to save lives.
On April 1, I will start in San Diego, California and ride 46 days (with 4 rest days) to arrive in St Augustine, Florida. I am riding with TransAmerica Cycling which will handle all of the logistics. I hope to raise money for Be The Match as well as encourage people across the country to sign up for the bone marrow registry since all that is required is a simple cheek swab to be that hero who could save someone’s life! If you or someone you know wants to join - click here to request a swab kit be sent to your home: http://join.bethematch.org/AmysAdventure.
Your financial gift can add new potential marrow donors to the registry, assist patients with uninsured transplant costs and fund innovative research to improve transplant outcomes.
Did you know?
A marrow transplant can be a life-saving treatment for more than 70 diseases including leukemia, lymphoma and sickle cell. Seventy percent of patients do not have a matching donor in their family. They depend on Be The Match to find an unrelated marrow donor and receive the transplant they need.
Please help me reach my fundraising goal by making a tax-deductible contribution. Your gift delivers cures to patients desperate for a second chance at life. Every dollar counts. Together, we can make a difference!
Thank you and please feel free to share this far and wide and with anyone you think might be interested in helping!
With love and appreciation,
