After following the story of a sweet girl with infant AML Leukemia named Hannah from Morehead, KY., I became interested in learning more about what I can do to make a difference for others who are battling similar diseases. Hannah underwent a bone marrow transplant from a donor and has since been given a second chance at life. This beautiful girl and her family are special to me although I just know them through Facebook posts. Hannah is a fighter and a true inspiration. After seeing how the donor affected Hannah's life, I decided to join Be The Match Donor Registry. I was on the registry for several months before I was contacted about being a potential match for someone. If I am the best candidate for this patient, I will be more than happy to donate in hopes of giving someone another opportunity at life. Join me in raising awareness and funds for this cause!
Did you know?
A marrow transplant can be a life-saving treatment for more than 70 diseases including leukemia, lymphoma and sickle cell. Seventy percent of patients do not have a matching donor in their family. They depend on Be The Match to find an unrelated marrow donor and receive the transplant they need.
Please help me reach my fundraising goal by making a tax-deductible contribution. Your gift delivers cures to patients desperate for a second chance at life. Every dollar counts. Together, we can make a difference!
