As many of you know, I was fortunate to have the ability to donate bone marrow to a schoolteacher in Texas suffering from Leukemia. And on July 6, we met in person for the first time. Michelle is now healthy and has returned to work, has been able to see both of her children get married and is now expecting a grandchild. Over the past two years Michelle has been nothing short of heroic, and more than humbling for me as I have seen firsthand the impact that Be the Match can have on people - and the lives it can save. If you would like to learn more, attached is an article from a local newspaper. Based on this experience, I have decided to help Be the Match raise funds for patients in need. Your gift can add new potential marrow donors to the registry, assist patients with uninsured transplant costs and fund innovative research to improve transplant outcomes.
Did you know?
A marrow transplant can be a life-saving treatment for more than 70 diseases including leukemia, lymphoma and sickle cell. Seventy percent of patients do not have a matching donor in their family. They depend on Be The Match to find an unrelated marrow donor and receive the transplant they need.
Please help me reach my fundraising goal by making a 100% tax-deductible contribution. Your gift delivers cures to patients desperate for a second chance at life. Every dollar counts. Together, we can make a difference!
