Be The Match: a nonprofit organization that saves lives through cellular therapy.
Tough Mudder: an 8-10 mile course with 25 obstacles (and lots of mud).
I’m raising money for Be The Match while participating in my first Tough Mudder competition!
May of 2011 started me on a tough road. A popular prescription gave me a common side-effect of uncommon scope: full-body tendonitis, bi-lateral tendinopathy of the Achilles, and peripheral neuropathy. Every aspect of my life was altered.
In May of 2012 I graduated from wheelchair to walker. My brother was prepping for the Tough Mudder and mom and I joked that though my physical therapy was hard, at least it wasn’t as bad the Tough Mudder—surely I could do one more set of tip-toes or leg-lifts. Do you remember the book “If you give a Mouse a Cookie”? Well, if you give a Beth a Challenge…
Eight years, three canes, and 1 kick-boxing membership later, I’m raising money to help our patients through their own medical mud.
How you can help:
Join Team Twohy by making a monetary donation (the Make a Gift button is at the top of this page*). Your gift is tax-deductible and will add new potential blood stem cell donors to the registry, assist patients with uninsured transplant costs, and fund innovative research to improve transplant outcomes.
Be The Match: We save lives through cellular therapy. (And you can, too.)
*If Team Twohy earns $1,000.00, I will run the Tough Mudder in a tutu. Can you imagine
that? So can I. Let’s make it happen.
EDIT: Wow, wow, Wow! Looks like this Tough Mudder needs to get a tutu!
Thank you all so much, and welcome to Team Twohy!
To raise even MORE money for patients, I've increased my goal to $2,000.00 by July 13th (the day of the Minneapolis Tough Mudder).
Think we can make it?
One tutu + Two Thousand = Team Twohy. Do it for the alliteration!
