Bone Marrow Drive for Margaret Davis
In November 2008, Margaret (Margy) Davis was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) an aggressive bone marrow cancer. The only hope for a cure is a bone marrow transplant.
Margy's doctors at Johns Hopkins have been searching for a suitable bone marrow donor for over 2 years without success. Meanwhile, her blood counts have been maintained with a chemotherapeutic drug called Vidaza, but it's effectiveness appears to be waning. We need your help now to find a donor for our Mom and to grow the bone marrow registry for other patients who are in need of a life-saving transplant.
Here are THREE WAYS YOU CAN HELP:
1. Join the Registry at our Bone Marrow Donor Drive
Our Bone Marrow Drive will take place May 5-7 (see times below) in downtown Boulder at the Odd Fellows Lodge (IOOF) which is above the Boulder Army Store. It costs you nothing to join the Registry. All you need to do is show up, fill out a form, and swab your cheek cells. The address is:
1543 Pearl Street
Boulder, CO 80302
Thursday, May 5, 2011 from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
Friday, May 6, 2011 from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Saturday, May 7, 2011 from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm
2. Help us Raise Money
Although it's free for you to join the bone marow registry, Be The Match pays about $100 to add new members. Please help us reach our goal to raise $2,000 for Be The Match in Margy's honor:

3. Join the Registry on your own
If you are unable to attend our local drive, you can visit www.bethematch.org to find a bone marrow donor drive near you.
You can fill out a questionnaire online and we will mail you a kit at no charge to you. The kit will contain the materials necessary to provide a cheek swab. Simply Go To:
