Course Information:

The 1K and 5K routes in Charlotte are using the paved streets surrounding the University Research Park. Local police will manage the street traffic and our race participants through partial road closure, until after our runners/walkers pass. Please be mindful of traffic and remain within the designated running area/lane, paying attention to all directions provided. In addition to police support, signage and course marshals will be along the route to provide guidance.

Community Outreach:

After the Be The Match Walk+Run, join us at the Tipsy Burro to re-fuel with some delicious Tex-Mex cuisine and your cold beverage of choice. Be sure to stop by the Information Tent to pick up your coupon for 20% off – it’s good for the entire day! The Tipsy Burro will be opening one hour early for us at 11:00 am for this post-race gathering.

Feeling sore after running the 5k? Innovation Health would like to offer you a free chiropractic visit between September 11th and September 29th. Download this form for complete instructions. Their office is located just around the corner from the venue.

We are looking for volunteer leaders! Be part of the Local Organizing Committee that is dedicated to helping the event reach its goals in order to save more lives. Committee members serve as ambassadors of Be The Match, lead fundraising efforts for the Walk+Run, and promote the Walk+Run in the local community. No experience is necessary.

You can also help us get the word out about your participation in the Be The Match Walk+Run. Build awareness and help boost the funds you raise by spreading the word to your social networks or by posting event posters and postcards in your community.

Contact Erin Forsell at erin.forsell@nmdp.org for more information about the committee or to request posters and/or postcards.

Parking Information:

There is free parking available at the race site.  Parking is limited, so when possible, please consider carpooling.  Participant parking will be well marked; please follow directional signage upon arriving.
