Today, March 30th, is a bittersweet day as today would have been my Dad's 71st birthday. It has been 3 months since he passed and yet it feels like a lifetime. As tough as this day is I thought it was the perfect day to officially kick off our fundraising efforts for Be The Match....Team Marecel's Marrow Minions is back!
Although Dad lost his life, throughout his entire ordeal he was forever grateful to Be the Match..he was given the gift of a life saving bone marrow transplant that allowed him to live long enough to fulfill his lifelong dream of having a little cabin in the woods. I spoke of this at his memorial service and I truly believe had it not been for Be the Match he would not have lived long enough to fulfill that dream.
I promised my Dad at his memorial that I would continue to make him proud, to live my life as I know he would want me to...and I don't think there is a better way to honor my Dad than to fight on and raise money and awareness to help find a cure for blood cancers.
So if you can, please join me in honoring my Dad for our Be the Match Walk in Charlotte....100% of the money raised goes to this life saving organization. Any amount is appreciated.
If you can and are able please consider joining our team, Marcel's Marrow Minions. We would love to have you! Please contact me for details or with any questions.
Thank you for your love and support!

Every 3 minutes someone is diagnosed with blood cancer.
Thousands of patients with blood cancers like leukemia or other diseases like sickle cell anemia, need a marrow transplant to survive. Most patients don’t have a fully matched donor in their family — and that’s when they turn to Be The Match®. By participating in a Be The Match Walk+Run, or donating funds, you are providing life-saving support to those patients in need. Do right, join the fight.
