In honor of our dear friend and loved one Stephanie Vavrichek, I joined a team for the Be The Match Walk+Run on May 13, 2017 to raise money in the fight against blood cancer. Stephanie courageously fought breast cancer and then AML for 3.5 years. Her best hope for a cure was a bone marrow transplant, which she received in July of 2015. Sadly, she lost her battle on December 7, 2016, but not without inspiring so many who knew her with her joy for life, generosity and positive attitude. Stephanie had a great appreciation for Be The Match and its mission to help so many, who like her needed the gift of a bone marrow transplant in their fight against blood cancer. For this reason, I'd like your help by making a financial gift to help our team reach our fundraising goal of $15,000.
The money we raise will:
Help add volunteer marrow donors,Help patients with transplant costs; andFund research—providing cures to more patients.

In addition to or in lieu of a financial gift, we also encourage you to help patients who are battling blood cancer by:
1. Joining the Be The Match Registry if you haven't already. You may be the cure that someone is looking for. Visit www.bethematch.org to start the registration process.2. Donating blood in honor of Stephanie to the Red Cross. Blood cancer patients rely on blood products daily to stay healthy. To find a donation site near you, visit www.redcross.org.
(Please let me know if you join the registry or donate blood - our team would like to track the number of donations.

Every 3 minutes someone is diagnosed with blood cancer.
Thousands of patients with blood cancers like leukemia or other diseases like sickle cell anemia, need a marrow transplant to survive. Most patients don’t have a fully matched donor in their family — and that’s when they turn to Be The Match®. By participating in a Be The Match Walk+Run, or donating funds, you are providing life-saving support to those patients in need. Do right, join the fight.
