Course Information:

The 1K and 5K routes are along the paved running/biking Lakefront Trail starting near Upper Hutchinson Field. While there are no vehicles on this trail system, it is open to the public and is popular with joggers & cyclists. Please be courteous to other runners, walkers, and cyclists by staying on your right, especially if you are accompanied by children and/or have strollers. There are two points where the route crosses the street, so traffic Control Officers will assist participants at these intersections.

We are better neighbors when we do not block the whole path by walking 4-5 across, but rather walk in pairs and leave room for other beach-goers to enjoy the paths as well.

It is also important to pay special attention to the directions provided by signage and course marshals.

The Tot Trot is approximately 150-200 feet

Community Outreach:

Eat at Giordano's on April 29 and 15% of your entire bill will be donated to Be The Match. Print this flier to participate.

We are looking for volunteer leaders! Be part of the Local Organizing Committee that is dedicated to helping the event reach its goals in order to save more lives. Committee members serve as ambassadors of Be The Match, lead fundraising efforts for the Walk+Run, and promote the Walk+Run in the local community. No experience is necessary.

You can also help us get the word out about your participation in the Be The Match Walk+Run. Build awareness and help boost the funds you raise by spreading the word to your social networks or by posting event posters and postcards in your community.

Contact Angie Larson at angela.larson@nmdp.org  for more information about the committee or to request posters and/or postcards.

Parking Information:

Metered street parking is available on Columbus Drive between Roosevelt and Jackson. Please pay close attention to any posted signage and make sure to pay for parking at designated kiosks. In some cases the kiosk may be located further down the street. Participants are also encouraged to consider public transportation. There is a CTA stop at Roosevelt (Green/Orange/Red Line). The event site is about .6 miles from Roosevelt.
