Course Information:

The 1K and 5K routes are mainly on Roosevelt Island's paved running/biking paths. A small portion of each course is on a public street, where a lane will be coned off for us. While there are no vehicles on the paths, it is open to the public and is popular with joggers and cyclists. Please be aware that the trail splits off at several points, so it is important to pay special attention to directions provided by signage and course marshals.

Please be courteous to other runners, walkers, and cyclists by staying on your right as much as possible, especially if you have children and strollers. We are better neighbors when we don't block the whole path by walking 4-5 people across, but rather walk in pairs and leave room for other park-goers to enjoy the paths as well.

Please note that this is not a certified 5K course which means it has not been measured by USATF to ensure exact mileage. This route is provided by Roosevelt Island and is the only route permitted to be used.

The Tot Trot is approximately 150-200 feet

Transportation and Parking Information:

TRANSPORTATION:

By Tram from Manhattan - Take the Roosevelt Island Tram from the Manhattan Station to the Roosevelt Island Station. The tram operates on the same fare and payment methods as the NYC Subway. Fare and schedules for the tram can be found here. Please note that construction may be taking place on the tram and in those instances, RIOC’s Red Bus will provide free transportation between Manhattan and Roosevelt Island.

By NYC Subway - Take the F train to the Roosevelt Island Stop.  Please refer to the Weekender MTA app the week of the event: http://web.mta.info/apps/weekenderApp.html to confirm the schedule.

By Car - parking is extremely limited, therefore driving to Roosevelt Island is strongly discouraged. We suggest that you take public transportation. However, if you need to drive, you will need to enter the island from the Queens side via the Roosevelt Island Bridge - there are no vehicle access points from the Manhattan side.

PARKING:

Metered street parking around the Event Village is extremely limited. There is a parking garage 0.7 miles north of the Event Village. You can walk from the garage or take the Roosevelt Island Red Bus to the Event Village. Please click here for the parking rates and here for the Red Bus schedule.
