bibs are available for marrow donors, transplant recipients and supporters who
are participating in honor or memory of a special person. Pick up your bib at
the Be The Match Tent in the Event Village.
We do not offer a bag drop. Please leave any items you don’t want to carry in a
and 5K routes are mainly on Roosevelt Island's paved running/biking paths. A
small portion of each course is on a public street, where a lane will be coned
off for us. While there are no vehicles on the paths, it is open to the
public and is popular with joggers and cyclists. Please be aware that the trail
splits off at several points, so it is important to pay special attention to
directions provided by signage and course marshals.
Please be courteous to other runners,
walkers, and cyclists by staying on your right as much as possible, especially
if you have children and strollers. We are better neighbors when we don't
block the whole path by walking 4-5 people across, but rather walk in pairs and
leave room for other park-goers to enjoy the paths as well.
Please note that this is not a certified 5K course which means it
has not been measured by USATF to ensure exact mileage. This
route is provided by Roosevelt Island and is the only route permitted to be

Fitness as they get you warmed up for the Be The Match New York Walk+Run
and celebrate after you cross the finish line!
Jumpgal Fitness is a dance fitness company that
incorporates music and creative dance routines such as: Dance Fusion, Dance
Fight, Zumba Fitness and Caribbean Dance to help keep you motivated and happy
with your fitness goals.
We are looking for volunteer leaders! Be part of the Local Organizing Committee that is dedicated to helping the event reach its goals in order to save more lives. Committee members serve as ambassadors of Be The Match Walk+Run, and promote the Be The Match Walk+Run in the local community. No experience is necessary.
You can also help us get the word out about your participation in the Be The Match Walk+Run. Build awareness and help boost the funds you raise by spreading the word to your social networks or by posting event posters and postcards in your community.

By Tram from
Manhattan - Take the Roosevelt Island Tram from the
Manhattan Station to the Roosevelt Island Station. The tram operates
on the same fare and payment methods as the NYC Subway. Fare and schedules for
the tram can be found here. Please note
that construction may be taking place on the tram and in those instances,
RIOC’s Red Bus will provide free transportation between Manhattan and Roosevelt
By NYC Subway - Take the F train to the
Roosevelt Island Stop. Please refer to the Weekender MTA app the week of
the event: http://web.mta.info/apps/weekenderApp.html to
confirm the schedule.
By Car - parking is
extremely limited, therefore driving to Roosevelt Island is strongly
discouraged. We suggest that you take public transportation. However, if
you need to drive, you will need to enter the island from the Queens side via
the Roosevelt Island Bridge - there are no vehicle access points from the
street parking around the Event Village is extremely limited. There
is a parking garage 0.7 miles north of the Event Village. You can
walk from the garage or take the Roosevelt Island Red Bus to the Event
