I found my match!
Be The Match has given me a second chance at life! As many of you know, I was diagnosed with acute undifferentiated leukemia in October of 2014. I was fortunate enough to receive a bone marrow transplant in June of 2015 from an unrelated donor through the Be The Match bone marrow registry, and I am on the road to recovery. I am participating in the Be The Match 5k Walk on December 1, 2018 (now my fourth!!!) to raise money to deliver more cures and SAVE MORE LIVES. Now I need YOU to step up and be a hero to a patient in need.
If you are in Southern California and have nothing to do on December 1st, come join my team and walk the 5k with me! If you can't make it in person, please help me reach my fundraising goal by making a tax-deductible contribution to Be The Match. 100% of the event proceeds help to add new potential marrow donors to the registry, help patients struggling with uninsured costs, and help to fund research. Every donation, big or small, can help! If you are unable to make a financial contribution, please check out joining the bone marrow registry and/or spread the word about this amazing organization.
Again this year, we are walking in memory of Aaron Lee, who lost his battle with lymphoma on October 21st, 2017. This organization was one that he was very passionate about, and he helped recruit many donors before and after his lymphoma diagnosis.
Did you know? A marrow transplant can be a life-saving treatment for more than 70 diseases including leukemia, lymphoma and sickle cell. Seventy percent of patients do not have a matching donor in their family (like me!). Patients like myself depend on Be The Match to find unrelated donors and receive the transplant they need.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Every 3 minutes someone is diagnosed with blood cancer.
Thousands of patients with blood cancers like leukemia or other diseases like sickle cell anemia, need a marrow transplant to survive. Most patients don’t have a fully matched donor in their family — and that’s when they turn to Be The Match®. By participating in a Be The Match Walk+Run, or donating funds, you are providing life-saving support to those patients in need. Join the fight.
