Instructions to Join A Team
Players and coaches of the Heat United Soccer Club will work together to support both the club and Be The Match®. Be The Match helps patients receive the marrow or umbilical cord blood transplant they need. Thousands of patients with leukemia and other life-threatening diseases depend on Be The Match Registry® to find an unrelated donor and a second chance at life. Seventy percent of patients do not have a donor match in their family.
The registry is the largest and most diverse in the world and is operated by the National Marrow Donor Program® (NMDP). Since 1987, the NMDP has facilitated more than 40,000 transplants. Be The Match FoundationSM supports the NMDP and raises funds to grow the registry. Donations gained through Soccer Marrowthons will directly fund the process of adding donors to the registry, increasing the chances that more patients find their match. For more information, visit BeTheMatchFoundation.org or call 1 (800) 507-5427.
