Kajal is a sixth grade honor roll student who brings joy to all those around her with her big smile and cute laugh. Unfortunately, Kajal has had to deal with an illness from the time she was a nine-month old infant.  Throughout her young life, she has had multiple health issues and hospitalizations for a  disease that doctors have yet been able to diagnose. 

This past November around Thanksgiving, Kajal’s life and our lives came to a standstill when she suffered a stroke due to her illness.  Her doctors say that her disease has caused her to develop a severe form of vasculitis. Kajal’s doctors at Egleston say that a bone marrow transplant is the only treatment that can allow Kajal to be a healthy young girl again.

Thank you to all of you for making Be A Hero for Kajal 24 Hour Marrow-Thon such a huge success! We had an overwhelming response and we have added more than 3,000 potential donors to Be The Match Registry, beating the Guinness World Record!

We continue to need your support. Be The Match never charges anyone to join the registry however it does cost $100 to add a new member to Be The Match Registry. We rely on generous tax-deductible contributions and 100% of all monies raised goes directly towards funding the people who joined at the drive on the registry to give more patients, like Kajal, a hope for a cure and a second chance at life.  Any amount is much appreciated!
