Be The Match is a nationwide community committed to helping patients in need of a marrow transplant by raising funds to add more potential marrow donors to Be The Match Registry.

By supporting me, you will help raise funds for me as well as thousands of other patients in immediate need of an unrelated marrow or umbilical cord blood transplant.

As an African American diagnosed with Leukemia after surviving Breast Cancer, I was told only 7% of the 10 million registered donors in the U.S. are of African American heritage. These numbers are staggering, but YOU can help increase my odds and the odds of others find our match.

Martin Luther King once said:

“Our nettlesome task is to discover how to organize strengths into compelling power.”  The registry drive on Dec 16, 2012 was just a start for us.  We are asking…no we are pleading that you act on these staggering statistics and organize events in your community, your work places, your clubs or organizations, or your places of worship.

We ask that you register online, do a registry drive, make a contribution or place it on your social media outreach pages such as Facebook, twitter, or a blog.  We want to wake up our people…. our Race…. this nation… Let them know this is a fight for life…This is our Race against time!

PLEASE encourage your social networking associates to consider registering by signing up to join the marrow registry or help by volunteering, hosting an event, writing a grant to help us continue to add people to the registry.  College Students, Pastor's, Teachers, Cashiers, Health Care Providers, Human Resource Staff, Executives, Managers, etc., everyone can play a role and your help is needed.  For those in educational settings, this could be a class social action project. Many of our accomplishments during the Civil Rights era started with the actions of our youth.

Hosting the Donor Drive was easy.  Be creative and let's save lives!  Take a peek at our drive:

We surpassed our goal of $5,000 to help pay for the tissue typing of all new registry members signing up for the Be The Match Registry on behalf of Carol.  Now we are setting a new goal of $20,000.  In addition to Carol, thousands of leukemia, lymphoma, and other blood cancer patients rely on this registry to find an unrelated marrow donor to save their lives. It costs approximately $100 for each donor to be tested and added to the registry.

Together YOU can help us "Fight the Good Fight"

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Your contribution, in any amount, will help us realize our goal. 100% of the money donated, will stay in our local area to add donors to the registry.  Contrary to what you may have heard: Be The Match accepts donations from one penny to one trillion dollars.  So, if you see a penny lying on the ground, pick it up and donate it.  There is nothing like a penny from heaven from around the nation. But donate your time and efforts as well to spread the word about this movement.

By supporting us, your "tax-deductible" contribution will help to add new donors to this lifesaving registry. Once a donor is added to the registry they remain searchable by patients until the donor turns age 61.  Your financial contribution today can mean numerous lives saved today and for years to come.

Together, we have the potential to truly make a difference in Carol's life and the lives of thousands of men, women, and children in need of a life-saving transplant.

· Ignites hope for searching patients by adding donors to the marrow registry
· Turns the impossible into the achievable by investing in research discoveries

 Why you should help?

Be The Match relies on our support to collect contributions from people like us so that it can further its mission.  Proceeds will help add more potential donors to the Be The Match Registry. I hope you'll consider making a contribution today.  Together we can help save lives!
