Chris, Laurie, Chase, Alani & Rickson

Chris Herrell is 39 years old and has been married to his wife Laurie for 15 years. They have three young children; Chase (8) and in the 2nd grade, Rickson (2) and Alani (infant) who was just adopted this past September right before Chris became sick. Chris works for the Cincinnati Reds and was recently diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS), a rare form of blood cancer.

His only cure is a bone marrow transplant. Presently, no donors in the bone marrow registry match Chris.  A match must be found to save his life. Without it, his wife and children will lose him to this battle.

All it takes to join the Registry is a simple swab of a Q-tip!
Please join the registry.  The need is Great and the solution is Simple.... but the cure starts with YOU.....

Thank you for your time and consideration!  If you have questions, please contact Laurie via email at lcherrell@gmail.com.  To follow Chris's progress, please visit: www.caringbridge.org/visit/chrisherrell

Providing Hope

Every year, thousands of people of all ages are diagnosed with leukemia, MDS and other life-threatening diseases. For many of them, the best hope is a marrow or umbilical cord blood transplant from a matching donor. Seventy percent of patients do not have a donor in their family and depend on the Be The Match Registry to find a match.

The Be The Match Registry is operated by the National Marrow Donor Program® (NMDP). The NMDP is dedicated to creating an opportunity for all patients to receive the bone marrow or umbilical cord blood transplant they need, when they need it.
You have the power to help by making a donation and joining the registry!
