Be The Match On Campus - Purdue University
Purdue Swimming and Diving
Thomas Reiter and the Purdue Swimming and Diving Team had a special bond. We are saddened by his recent passing. He always found something positive in nearly every situation which is why we want to honor his memory by collecting donations to add new potential donors to the Be The Match Bone Marrow Registry. Please help us by making a donation in remembrace of Thomas Reiter.
Be The Match® On Campus is a growing network of colleges nationwide that help patients who need a marrow or umbilical cord blood transplant. Students and faculty across the nation are working hard to add volunteers to the Be The Match Registry and to raise funds to support the cause.
Did you know it costs $100 to add each potential donor to the registry? To grow the registry, we need financial support. The more registry members, the greater the likelihood patients with leukemia, lymphoma, sickle cell anemia or other blood disease will find a marrow match. Your commitment and contribution could be someone’s cure.
Please consider making a contribution today! Be The Match relies on public contributions to continue its life-saving work.
What does Be The Match do with the money?
Be The Match connects patients with life-saving marrow donors. We help save lives by:
- Recruiting potential donors: Be The Match manages the largest and most diverse donor registry--more than 11 million marrow donors and nearly 185,000 cord blood units.
- Educating doctors: Doctors turn to Be The Match to learn about transplant advances, caring for transplant patients and the importance of timely referral for transplant.
- Advancing science: Be The Match supports research to advance the science of marrow transplant, from improved donor and patient matching to improving post-transplant treatment.
