Brenda was a generous, loving, and funny person, and she truly adored her cats, Jack and Maya, with her whole heart.
Brenda dearly loved her nephews, Tyler and Nick, and they were a bright light of pride in her life. She was very upset when Tyler was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2014, and was very happy and appreciative when a match was found for him. Brenda made it a point to communicate often with Tyler’s donor, Joel, and she thought so much of him for saving her nephews life.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations in Brenda's name, to the Be the Match Foundation National Bone Marrow Registry. This organization held a special place in her heart since Joel was found through this organization.
A marrow transplant can be a life-saving treatment for more than 70 diseases including leukemia, lymphoma andsickle cell. Seventy percent of patients do not have a matching donor in their family. They depend on Be The Match to find an unrelated marrow donor and receive the transplant they need. Donations will be used to help pay for the in-depth tissue typing that is needed when adding donors to the database.
Through Brenda’s generosity, and yours, many more lives will be saved in her honor.
